Roberto “Piojo” Alvarado could be on his way to Russia before the transfer market closes on September 10, after Chivas received an initial offer from Spartak Moscow close to $8 million.
The proposal places the 28-year-old player in a position to share Russian football with his compatriots César Montes and Luis Chávez. Both players are already part of the competition in Russia, which adds to Spartak’s interest in Alvarado.
According to information from Gibran Araige, Chivas management is evaluating the offer presented by the Moscow club, although they believe that the amount offered is below their expectations. The report indicates that Chivas does not plan to part ways with Alvarado at this moment, keeping negotiations open but with the condition of receiving an improved proposal.
“Spartak Moscow wants Piojo and has already sent an offer to Chivas close to $8 million. The red-and-white management is analyzing the proposal but considers it low at first and does not want to sell the forward, especially now that the team is fighting for the title,” Araige wrote on social media.
Time for negotiation is limited, as the transfer market in Russia closes on September 10. Therefore, Spartak Moscow has only a few days to improve their offer and reach an agreement with the red-and-white team. However, the initial refusal does not mean the end of the conversations and Chivas hopes to receive a second offer before the registration period in Russia ends.
