How many people ride line 15?

35,884trips on a weekday
25,023trips on a Saturday
15,333trips on a Sunday

It ranks #58 out of 265 national and provincial AMBA bus lines by weekday trips.

Trips paid with a SUBE card, typical (median) value for August–September 2026. Source: Ministry of Transport open data.

Line 15 is one of the colectivos (city buses) that cross Buenos Aires from south to north, end to end. It leaves Valentín Alsina, in Lanús, runs through Boedo, Almagro, Villa Crespo, Palermo and Belgrano, and ends in the northern suburbs: General Pacheco, Benavídez, Ruta 23 in Tigre or the Pilar district. It is run by Transportes Sur-Nor C.I.S.A. and, according to SUBE open data, it recorded about 35,900 trips on a typical weekday in August and September 2026. A word of caution about searches: other cities in the country, such as Paraná, also have a “línea 15” (line 15); this guide covers bus 15 in the AMBA.

Bus 15 route

All ramales (branches) share the section inside the city. From Valentín Alsina (Senador Quindimil and Carabobo) they cross the Riachuelo over the Puente Alsina, continue along Av. Sáenz in Pompeya and take Av. La Plata, with landmark stops at Av. Caseros and Av. Rivadavia. They then run along Av. Díaz Vélez, Av. Ángel Gallardo, Av. Warnes and Av. Scalabrini Ortiz (crossing Av. Corrientes, in Villa Crespo) and Av. Santa Fe to Plaza Italia and the Av. Intendente Bullrich area, in Palermo. Via Av. Luis María Campos and Virrey Vértiz they reach Barrancas de Belgrano, next to Belgrano C station on the Mitre train line.

From Belgrano almost all branches continue along Av. del Libertador to Av. General Paz and join the Autopista Panamericana, with stops at Laprida, Ugarte and Edison (Vicente López and San Isidro), Av. Márquez, Camino Real and Ruta 23. There the routes split according to their final destination.

Branches to Benavídez, Pacheco and Pilar

The 15A is the full route: it continues along the Escobar branch of the Panamericana, past General Pacheco, the ex Fábrica Wobron and the junctions with Av. Henry Ford and Av. Alvear, and via Chilavert and Av. Perón reaches Benavídez station, about 54 km from Valentín Alsina. The 15B leaves the motorway at Ruta 24 (Av. Hipólito Yrigoyen) and ends at General Pacheco station, 46 km away. The 15C is shorter and ends at the Panamericana service road and Ruta 23 (Av. Ángel T. de Alvear), 37 km away. The 15D takes the Pilar branch of the Panamericana and reaches Barrio 1° de Mayo, in the Pilar district, near the Tortugas Open Mall: about 49 km.

Short branches within the city

Two branches do not leave the city: the 15E ends at Av. del Libertador and Pico, in Núñez (about 20 km), and the 15F at Barrancas de Belgrano, at Virrey Vértiz and Juramento (about 17 km).

Fast line 15: the G, H, I and J express services

What many people search for as “15 rápido” or “semirrápido” (fast / semi-fast 15) are the four express services. They follow the same route as the regular ones within the city, but from General Paz onwards they do not pick up passengers on the motorway, except at one stop. The 15G goes to Benavídez and stops only at Panamericana and Camino Real (San Isidro); after José Ingenieros it stops normally again. The 15H goes to Pacheco and stops only at Ruta 23. The 15I goes straight to Ruta 23, with no stops on the motorway. The 15J reaches the ex Fábrica Wobron, at the El Talar terminus (Panamericana service road and Mermoz), stopping only at Ruta 23.

💡 Good to know: for a trip within the city, between Valentín Alsina and Barrancas de Belgrano, any 15 will do. The branch letter only matters after General Paz, and on the express services you cannot get off at the intermediate stops on the Panamericana.

Bus 15 timetable

According to the annex to Resolution 801/2024, the six regular branches (A to F) are authorised to run 24 hours a day. There is no official timetable per branch; the regulation sets the maximum rush-hour interval: branch F, every 12 minutes or less; D, every 11 minutes; B and C, every 11 to 11.5 minutes; E, every 13.5 minutes, and A, to Benavídez, every 22 minutes.

The express services have fixed time slots and run only on weekdays. The 15G leaves for Benavídez from 5:30 to 7:40 and from 16:15 to 18:30, and returns from 6:30 to 9:15 and from 16:15 to 19:00; on Saturdays it returns from 6:45 to 8:15. The 15H goes to Pacheco from 14:45 to 20:00 and returns from 6:30 to 7:30 and from 14:30 to 21:30. The 15I goes to Ruta 23 from 5:15 to 7:00 and returns from 6:00 to 8:45. The 15J goes to the ex Fábrica Wobron from 5:45 to 10:30 and returns from 6:00 to 9:30.

Demand drops at weekends: on a typical Sunday the line records about 15,300 SUBE trips, compared with 25,000 on a Saturday and 35,900 on a weekday. At night or on a Sunday, check the next bus in BA Cómo Llego.

What changed with Resolution 801/2024

If you still remember the old letters, watch out. Since August 2024 the 15 has had 10 routes: the branch to Benavídez via the Hospital Naval no longer appears, Pacheco became the B, Ruta 23 the C, Pilar the D, Libertador and Pico the E, Barrancas de Belgrano the F, and the express to the ex Fábrica Wobron, formerly the L, is now the J.

How long bus 15 takes

There are no official published journey times for the current routes, so distance is the best guide: 54 km to Benavídez, 49 km to Pilar, 46 km to Pacheco, 43 km to the ex Fábrica Wobron and 37 km to Ruta 23. At rush hour, the section along Av. Santa Fe and Av. La Plata adds the most delay; the express services save time on the motorway.

Main stops and connections

On Av. La Plata the 15 crosses subte (metro) line E (Av. La Plata station) and the Av. Rivadavia area, where line A runs. In Villa Crespo it passes near line B on Av. Corrientes, and in Palermo it passes Scalabrini Ortiz station and Plaza Italia, on line D, on Av. Santa Fe. At Barrancas de Belgrano you can connect with the Mitre train at Belgrano C station.

🚉

Barrancas de Belgrano

End of branch F and a connection point with the Mitre train at Belgrano C station.

🏭

General Pacheco

Terminus of the 15B and the 15H express at Pacheco station on the Mitre line; branches A and G pass through the area on the Panamericana.

🚉

Benavídez station

Terminus of the full 15A route and the 15G express, in the Tigre district.

Operator, phone and complaints

Line 15 is run by Transportes Sur-Nor C.I.S.A., with a terminus in El Talar (Panamericana and Mermoz), and is overseen by the CNRT. If there is a UTA (bus drivers’ union) strike, it usually affects all lines in the AMBA: check the day’s news before you leave. To complain about frequency, a bus that did not stop or poor service, the official channel is the CNRT: 0800-333-0300 or the form at control.cnrt.gob.ar. Have the line, branch, time and, if possible, the vehicle number to hand.

Tips for riding bus 15

  • For Pacheco take the 15B or, on weekday afternoons, the 15H express; for Benavídez, the 15A or the 15G express.
  • If you are going to Pilar, the 15D is the only one that takes the Pilar branch of the Panamericana.
  • On an express you cannot get off at Laprida, Ugarte, Edison or Márquez: if your stop is an intermediate one, wait for a regular bus.
  • Use a registered SUBE card: unregistered, the ticket costs double.
