Line 29 links La Boca with the north of the city and Olivos: it crosses downtown via the Metrobús del Bajo, runs up Av. Córdoba and Av. Santa Fe to Palermo and continues through Belgrano towards Núñez, Saavedra and Vicente López. This colectivo (city bus) is run by Empresa de Transportes Pedro de Mendoza C.I.S.A., with its depot at Rocha 945, and has three regular ramales (branches): A to Olivos, B to Parque Presidente Sarmiento and C to Estación Rivadavia. According to SUBE open data, it recorded about 33,100 trips on a typical weekday in August and September 2026.

Bus 29 route

All branches leave La Boca, at Magallanes and Carlos F. Melo, a few blocks from Caminito. They run along Benito Quinquela Martín, Av. Don Pedro de Mendoza and Av. Almirante Brown, and at Wenceslao Villafañe they join the Metrobús del Bajo, which they follow through San Telmo to Bartolomé Mitre. From there they continue along Av. Alem, Av. Rivadavia and Av. Roque Sáenz Peña (Diagonal Norte), cross downtown via Sarmiento, Libertad, Tucumán and Paraná, and run up Av. Córdoba and Gallo to Av. Santa Fe.

Along Av. Santa Fe they reach Plaza Italia and the Pacífico Transfer Centre, in Palermo, and continue along Av. Luis María Campos, Virrey del Pino and Av. Virrey Vértiz to Av. Juramento, in Belgrano. There the branches split.

Bus 29 to Olivos (branch A)

The 29A continues along Juramento, 11 de Septiembre and Mendoza to Av. del Libertador, crosses Av. General Paz and enters Vicente López along Libertador. It ends in Olivos, on Matías Sturiza, before Juan Díaz de Solís. It is the longest branch, at about 23.5 km, and the most frequent.

Bus 29 to Parque Sarmiento (branch B)

The 29B is the only one that runs along Av. Cabildo: from Juramento it joins the Metrobús Norte, leaves it at Manuela Pedraza and continues along Vuelta de Obligado, Crisólogo Larralde and Av. Ricardo Balbín to Vedia, next to Parque Presidente Sarmiento, in Saavedra. It is about 23 km. In the south it has one difference: it leaves the Metrobús del Bajo at Martín García, runs along Defensa and Av. Brasil and then rejoins it.

Bus 29 to Estación Rivadavia (branch C)

The 29C follows the same route as the A along Av. del Libertador, crosses Av. General Paz, turns around via Agustín Álvarez and comes back along Libertador to Pico, in Núñez, where its terminus is. The official table calls it “Estación Rivadavia (Línea Mitre)”. It is about 21.5 km. Branch C buses are not allowed to wait at the terminus.

💡 Good to know: between La Boca and Belgrano any 29 will do. If you are going along Av. Cabildo towards Saavedra, take the B; if you are going along Libertador to Núñez or Olivos, take the A or the C, and only the A crosses into Olivos.

The return trip to La Boca

The return trip does not repeat the outbound route through downtown. From Libertador (A and C) or from Av. Balbín, General Paz and Av. Cabildo (B), the branches run down Av. Juramento, Av. Virrey Vértiz and Luis María Campos to the Pacífico Transfer Centre. They then continue along Av. Santa Fe, Av. Coronel Díaz, Paraguay, Sánchez de Bustamante, San Luis, Jean Jaures, Viamonte and Talcahuano to Av. Corrientes, and via Diagonal Norte, Bolívar, Av. Julio A. Roca and Hipólito Yrigoyen they join the Metrobús del Bajo via Paseo Colón. They end at the depot at Rocha 945, in La Boca.

Timetable and frequency

According to the annex to Resolution 801/2024, all three branches are authorised to run 24 hours a day. At rush hour, with the full fleet, the frequency cannot be worse than one bus every 7 minutes on the A, every 10.5 minutes on the C and every 14 minutes on the B. There is no official published timetable per branch, so we do not give exact times.

SUBE data show the difference between weekdays and weekends: about 33,100 trips on a weekday, 18,300 on a Saturday and 14,400 on a Sunday. To travel at night or on a Sunday, check the next bus in the BA Cómo Llego app.

2024 changes: no express, Metrobús del Bajo instead

With Resolution 801/2024 (Boletín Oficial, 28/08/2024) the 29 was left with three branches. The D express, which ran from Plaza de Mayo to Belgrano C station, was withdrawn: if you are looking for the “29 expreso” (29 express), it no longer exists. In the south, all branches now use the Metrobús del Bajo from Wenceslao Villafañe, instead of the old route along Martín García, Defensa, Garay and Paseo Colón. In Olivos the A parks on Matías Sturiza, and the C no longer ends at Vedia and Libertador: it crosses General Paz and ends at Libertador and Pico. The B uses Manuela Pedraza to leave Av. Cabildo.

Main stops and connections

In La Boca the terminus is near Caminito. Downtown it passes Av. Alem, Av. Rivadavia and Diagonal Norte, and runs up Av. Córdoba. In Palermo it passes Plaza Italia, where there is a subte (metro) line D station. Branch B takes Av. Cabildo from Juramento, where line D’s Juramento station is. Branches A and C pass Juramento and 11 de Septiembre, next to Barrancas de Belgrano and Belgrano C station on the Mitre train line.

Operator, phone and complaints

Line 29 is run by Empresa de Transportes Pedro de Mendoza C.I.S.A., with its depot and garage at Rocha 945, La Boca. It is a national-jurisdiction line, overseen by the CNRT. In 2025 and 2026 we found no strikes or service cuts specific to the 29; when there is a UTA (bus drivers’ union) strike, it usually affects all lines in the AMBA. To complain about frequency, a bus that did not stop or poor service, the official channel is the CNRT: 0800-333-0300 or the form at control.cnrt.gob.ar. Have the line, branch, time and, if possible, the vehicle number to hand.

Tips for riding bus 29

  • For Olivos take only the 29A; the C stays in Núñez, at Libertador and Pico.
  • For Saavedra and Parque Sarmiento, take the 29B, which runs less often than the other two.
  • If you are heading downtown from the north, remember that the return trip runs down Av. Corrientes, not Av. Córdoba.
  • Use a registered SUBE card: unregistered, you pay double.
