Route 502 is a Red Movilidad bus (locally, a micro) in the system formerly called Transantiago, linking Cerro Navia with the eastern part of Las Condes. It does not enter the Alameda: it crosses the centre along the banks of the Mapocho river and continues along Av. Santa María and Av. Vitacura. According to DTPM’s current operating schedule (October 2026), the outbound trip is 30.4 km long and has 87 bus stops. It is run by Metbus.

Route 502: from Cerro Navia to Cantagallo

Cerro Navia and Salvador Gutiérrez. The 502 leaves from Rodoviario and Mar de Chile, runs along Mar de Chile and La Capilla and takes Salvador Gutiérrez, the street with most of its western bus stops: it passes the CESFAM Dr. Adalberto Steeger and crosses Santos Luis Medel, Neptuno, Samuel Izquierdo and Radal as far as Mendoza.

Av. Mapocho and the centre. Via Mendoza it reaches Avenida Mapocho at Tropezón and continues with bus stops at Matucana, Población Mapocho, Ricardo Cumming and General Baquedano. It passes the Hospital Traumatológico, Estación Mapocho, the Mercado Central, Puente Loreto and Puente Purísima.

Av. Santa María. After the Facultad de Derecho and the Clínica Santa María, the 502 passes Salvador station and continues along Avenida Santa María, with stops at the Clínica Indisa, Av. Pedro de Valdivia and Padre Letelier, up to Puente Los Leones.

Av. Vitacura, Av. Las Condes and Cantagallo. The longest stretch is along Avenida Vitacura: Alonso de Córdova, Plaza Lo Castillo, Av. Américo Vespucio, the Estadio Manquehue, the Clínica Alemana, the Rotonda Irene Frei and Los Cobres de Vitacura, as far as Valle Central. It then takes Avenida Tabancura, passes the Nudo Estoril and continues along Avenida Las Condes, next to the Universidad del Pacífico and Mayflower – Dunalastair, to the corner with San Francisco de Asís.

The return trip to Cerro Navia starts a little further up, at La Cabaña and Escrivá de Balaguer, and passes the Cantagallo bus stop. In the centre the return uses different streets: it runs along Av. Los Conquistadores and Avenida Bellavista, the Recoleta Franciscana and Avenida Andes, instead of Av. Santa María and Av. Mapocho.

Route 502 services and variants

The 502c is a short service that only runs on weekdays. In the morning, between 05:30 and 09:30, it leaves from Costanera Sur and Mar de Chile heading east along the same route as the 502 and ends at Padre Letelier and Los Españoles, near Av. Santa María and Av. Pedro de Valdivia. In the afternoon, between 16:30 and 22:00, it makes the return trip from Plaza Italia, passing Bellas Artes station and the Mercado Central. It is 17.1 km long and the scheduled trip takes about 82 minutes; in total it has about 15 eastbound departures a day.

Route 502 timetable

According to DTPM’s current operating schedule (October 2026), the 502 runs every day from 05:30 until midnight. On a weekday there are about 132 departures towards Cantagallo; on Saturday about 73 and on Sunday about 70.

On weekdays the highest frequency is in the morning towards Cantagallo, with a bus roughly every 4 minutes between 06:30 and 08:00. Towards Cerro Navia, the afternoon is the busiest time, with a bus every 5 minutes between 16:30 and 18:30. At weekends the daytime interval is about 15 minutes.

In the early morning there are few departures. Towards Cantagallo, Monday to Friday, a bus leaves roughly every 54 minutes between 01:00 and 05:30; on Saturday, every 135 minutes, and on Sunday there are none. Towards Cerro Navia there are departures every 30 minutes between midnight and 01:00, and then from 05:30.

How long the 502 takes

According to the operating schedule, the full trip from Cerro Navia to Cantagallo takes about 119 minutes for 30.4 km. The real time changes with the traffic on Av. Mapocho, Av. Santa María and Av. Vitacura. For partial trips, the App Red trip planner gives you a more accurate estimate.

Bus stops and Metro connections

The 502 has few direct Metro connections: in the direction of Cantagallo, the only station with its own bus stop is Salvador. For many trips it is more useful as a direct bus between the west and the eastern part of the city. If you need to transfer, tap your bip! within 120 minutes of your first tap. The 502c adds Bellas Artes station on its afternoon route.

🚌

Mar de Chile (Cerro Navia)

Western terminus of the 502, at Rodoviario and Mar de Chile. From here the bus heads off towards Salvador Gutiérrez.

🚉

Estación Mapocho and Mercado Central

The 502’s bus stops in the centre, next to the Mapocho river. Estación Mapocho has a bus stop in both directions; Mercado Central, in the direction of Cantagallo.

🏥

Clínica Alemana

Bus stop on Av. Vitacura, in both directions, near the Estadio Manquehue and the Rotonda Irene Frei.

How to see where the 502 bus is

The App Red, Red Movilidad’s free official app, has a predictor that shows how long until each bus reaches your stop. On red.cl, the “¿Cuándo llega?” option works the same way: type in the bus stop code and you will see the next buses. The code is on the sign at each bus stop and starts with P, a letter and a number. On the map on this page you can see the full 502 route before you set off.

Fare and tarjeta bip!

The adult bus fare is CLP 795 at any time of day, in force since 22 February 2026. Secondary and higher-education students with a TNE pay CLP 260, primary-school pupils ride free and seniors with a bip! Adulto Mayor card pay CLP 390. You can pay with the tarjeta bip! or with bip!QR from the App Red.

A single payment gives you up to two transfers (three legs) within 120 minutes of your first tap, as long as you do not repeat the same bus route. There is no extra charge between buses; if you combine with the Metro, the total rises to CLP 895 in peak hours and CLP 815 in off-peak hours.

Tips for riding the 502

  • If you are going to Av. Vitacura or the Clínica Alemana from the west, the 502 takes you there without a transfer.
  • Check the sign: the morning 502c ends on Av. Santa María and does not continue to Vitacura or Las Condes.
  • In the centre, the outbound trip runs along Av. Mapocho and the return along Bellavista and Av. Andes: check the map to choose the right bus stop.
  • In the early morning departures towards Cantagallo are very spaced out: check the App Red predictor before going to the bus stop.
