Line 28 links the Retiro Bus Terminal with the south of the city and the south-western suburbs: Constitución, Parque Patricios, Pompeya, Puente de la Noria, Liniers and La Matanza. It is run by D.O.T.A. S.A. and is one of the busiest colectivo (city bus) lines in the metro area: according to SUBE open data, it recorded about 81,500 trips on a typical weekday in August and September 2026, sixth among national and provincial lines in the AMBA (Buenos Aires metro area). In July 2026 its ramal (branch) network changed, so if you used it before, check which letter to take.

Bus 28 route in Buenos Aires

Branch A is the backbone of the line. It leaves the Retiro Bus Terminal, runs down Bolívar and Hipólito Yrigoyen, passes Plaza Constitución, continues along Av. Caseros and La Rioja and along Av. Sáenz to Av. Intendente Francisco Rabanal, in Pompeya. It then crosses the Riachuelo and ends at the Puente de la Noria minibus terminal, in Lomas de Zamora. It covers about 22 km and is the most frequent branch: at rush hour it runs every 7.5 to 10.4 minutes.

Three other services leave Retiro. The 28B follows the same route to Puente de la Noria and continues along Av. General Paz (Chilavert, Av. Juan B. Alberdi) to Liniers station. The 28C goes to Barrio José Hernández, in La Matanza. And the 28J is a Retiro–Liniers express via Av. Coronel Roca, with fewer stops.

Branches from Ciudad Universitaria and Estación Rivadavia

The other half of the line starts in the north of the city. The 28D runs from Ciudad Universitaria (Núñez) to Puente Ezequiel Demonty, the bridge formerly called Puente Alsina. The 28E links Estación Rivadavia on the Mitre train line with the same bridge, and the 28H links Estación Rivadavia with Puente de la Noria. The 28I express runs from Ciudad Universitaria to Puente de la Noria and, since Resolution 43/2026, adds stops at INTI’s Parque Tecnológico Migueletes. Finally, the 28F is a short branch between Puente Demonty and Barrio José Hernández.

Bus 28 to Aeroparque: the new branch G

The most visible change of 2026 is the 28G (formerly branch H). According to the Transport Secretariat, the route was extended to connect with Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. On the official route map, the G leaves Retiro, passes Aeroparque and Ciudad Universitaria, continues towards Estación Rivadavia and the Av. General Paz area and ends at Puente de la Noria: about 42 km, the longest branch of the line. Its authorised rush-hour frequency is every 8 to 12 minutes. If you live in the southern suburbs, it is a direct way to reach the city airport without going through downtown.

💡 Good to know: Resolution 43/2026 changed branch letters. The former H is now G, the J express became I, and the Retiro–Liniers express is now J. If you have an old guide, check the destination on the sign, not just the letter.

Frequencies and timetable

The 2026 resolution sets authorised rush-hour frequencies for each branch, shown in the table above: the A runs every 7.5 to 10.4 minutes, the E every 8 to 11, the I express every 8 to 11, the D every 10 to 14.5 and the C every 13.5 to 17.5. The least frequent branches are the B to Liniers (15.5 to 24 minutes), the J express (18.5 to 25.5) and the H (29 to 48). Outside rush hour and at weekends the intervals are longer: on a typical Sunday the line records about 23,100 SUBE trips, less than a third of a weekday. For night or early-morning trips, check the next bus in the BA Cómo Llego app.

How long bus 28 takes

Branch A covers about 22 km between Retiro and Puente de la Noria; much of the time goes on the downtown section along Bolívar and Constitución. To Liniers (28B) it is 33 km, which is why the 28J express, with fewer stops along Av. Coronel Roca, is the fastest option for that destination. The new 28G, at 42 km and with the detour via Aeroparque, is the longest trip on the line.

Main stops and connections

In Retiro, the terminus is next to the Bus Terminal and a short walk from the Mitre, San Martín and Belgrano train stations and subte (metro) line C. At Plaza Constitución you can connect with the Roca train and subte line C. In Pompeya, Av. Sáenz is lined with shops and served by many bus lines. Puente de la Noria is a major transfer terminal for the southern suburbs, with connections to Lomas de Zamora, Esteban Echeverría and La Matanza.

Operator, phone and complaints

Line 28 is run by D.O.T.A. S.A. de Transporte Automotor. For lost property or route questions, the usual step is to contact the company through its official channels. If your complaint is about frequency, a bus that did not stop or the driver’s behaviour, the formal channel is the CNRT: 0800-333-0300 or the form at control.cnrt.gob.ar, with the line, branch, time and vehicle number.

Tips for riding bus 28

  • To get from Retiro or Constitución to Puente de la Noria, take the 28A: it is the most frequent.
  • For Aeroparque from the south, look for the 28G; for Liniers from Retiro, the 28J express is faster than the 28B.
  • If you used to take the Ciudad Universitaria–Liniers branch, it no longer exists: change at Puente de la Noria or use another line along Av. General Paz.
  • Use a registered SUBE card: unregistered, the fare costs double.

Frequently asked questions about line 28

Does bus 28 go to Aeroparque?
Yes. With Resolution 43/2026 of the Transport Secretariat, route G (previously called H) was extended: it leaves Retiro, passes Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and Ciudad Universitaria, and continues through the Av. What route does bus 28 take?
The main branch (A) runs from the Retiro Bus Terminal along Bolívar, Plaza Constitución, Av. Caseros, Av. Sáenz and Pompeya to the Puente de la Noria terminal, in Lomas de Zamora. Which company runs bus 28?
