Line 8 is the colectivo (city bus) that links La Boca with the west of the city and Ezeiza International Airport. It is run by Transportes Río Grande S.A.C.I.F. and is the cheapest way to get to the airport: you pay with the SUBE card, like any other bus. According to SUBE open data, it recorded about 60,200 trips on a typical weekday in August and September 2026, placing it among the 15 most used national and provincial lines in the AMBA (Buenos Aires metro area). Besides its three regular ramales (branches), it has a semi-express service that connects the two Buenos Aires airports.

Bus 8 route in Buenos Aires

All regular branches share the city section. They leave La Boca at Brandsen and Hernandarias, go up Azopardo to Av. Brasil and cross downtown along Av. de Mayo (at Perú). Then they pass Plaza Miserere, in Once, and take Av. Rivadavia through Caballito and Flores (reference stops at Av. Acoyte, Artigas and Av. Del Corro) to Av. General Paz.

At General Paz the branches split. The 8C is the shortest: it ends in Liniers, at General Paz and Coronel Ramón L. Falcón, about 21 km from La Boca. The 8B continues along General Paz to Av. Juan B. Alberdi and the Camino de la Virgen María, and ends at the Mercado Central de Buenos Aires, in La Matanza (33 km). The 8A continues to the Ciudad Evita roundabout, takes the Autopista Riccheri and, past the junctions with Av. De la Noria, the Autopista Cañuelas and Ruta 205, reaches Ezeiza Airport: about 50 km in total.

💡 Good to know: if you are going to the airport, check that the sign says “Aeropuerto” or “Ezeiza” (branch A). The 8B and 8C also leave La Boca and follow the same route along Av. Rivadavia, but end earlier.

Bus 8 to Ezeiza: regular or semi-express

There are two ways to reach Ezeiza on line 8. The regular 8A branch leaves La Boca and covers the whole route along Av. Rivadavia, General Paz and the Riccheri, with many stops. It is slow, but it also runs in the small hours according to the official schedule, and it is handy if you live in Caballito, Flores, Floresta or Liniers.

The semi-express is marked with the letter “S” on the sign. It links Ezeiza Airport with Aeroparque Jorge Newbery: it leaves Ezeiza via the Riccheri and the Autopista 25 de Mayo, enters the city at Constitución, continues along Av. 9 de Julio at the Obelisco, passes Plaza de Mayo and Retiro and ends at Aeroparque. The service was authorised in 2022 and extended to link the two airports. According to travellers’ reports, it runs roughly every half hour, there is luggage space at the front, the trip between airports takes about an hour and a half and it does not run at night. At Ezeiza it stops in front of the terminals; confirm the exact stop at the airport.

⚠️ Keep in mind: on the bus you can only pay with SUBE. If you are arriving from abroad, get and top up a SUBE card before going to the stop: the driver does not take cash.

Bus 8 timetable

The daily timetable above shows the first and last departure of each branch according to the official schedule loaded in the GTFS. All three regular branches are listed with 24-hour service, every day. The 8A to Ezeiza has the most departures, followed by the 8B to Mercado Central and the 8C to Liniers. At weekends service drops: on a typical Sunday the line records about 18,000 SUBE trips, against 60,200 on a weekday, and the wait between buses is longer. If you have a flight to catch, leave with time to spare and check the next bus in the BA Cómo Llego app.

How long bus 8 takes

According to the official schedule, the full 8A trip from La Boca to Ezeiza Airport takes around 1 h 45 min; the 8B to Mercado Central, about 1 h 20 min, and the 8C to Liniers, around an hour. At rush hour the Av. Rivadavia section adds delays. If you are heading from downtown to the airport, the semi-express via the motorway is usually faster than the regular service.

Main stops and connections

Downtown, Av. de Mayo connects with subte (metro) line A, and Plaza Miserere with the Sarmiento train and lines A and H. Along Av. Rivadavia, in Caballito and Flores, line 8 runs alongside subte line A for several blocks. In Liniers you can connect with the Sarmiento train and with many lines heading to the western suburbs. Mercado Central is a busy stop for traders and for people doing wholesale shopping.

  • Use a registered SUBE card: unregistered, the fare costs double.
  • For Mercado Central, take the 8B; for Liniers, the 8C is the most direct.
