Buses, known locally as colectivos, are the backbone of public transport in Buenos Aires: more than 300 lines and hundreds of branches connect the city with the whole metropolitan area, many of them around the clock. This section gathers practical guides line by line: the street-by-street route, the full list of stops in both directions, the branches and how they differ, first and last departures, peak frequency and tips for reading the sign on the front of the bus.
All route and timetable data comes from the official AMBA bus GTFS feed (2019 edition) and is indicative: before travelling at night or into the suburbs, check the official app or the stop. The section grows line by line; we started with the most searched ones, including the airport bus (line 8) and the classic route to Tigre (line 60).

How to use these guides
- Main branch. Each guide uses the branch with the most services as its reference and lists its outbound and return stops; the other branches appear in a table with hours and frequency, with their stops in collapsible lists.
- Hours. “First departure” and “last departure” are terminal departure times. Lines with departures throughout the night are marked “Runs 24 hours”.
- Fares. All lines are paid with a SUBE card and the fare depends on distance: tell the driver your destination when boarding.
