Line 92 is a national-jurisdiction colectivo (city bus) that links Retiro and Plaza Flores with the 9 de Abril and Transradio neighbourhoods, in the Esteban Echeverría district. It is run by Empresa de Transporte Microómnibus Sáenz Peña S.R.L. and, according to SUBE open data, it recorded about 47,400 trips on a typical weekday in August and September 2026. Its official route is set by Resolution 801/2024 of the Ministry of Economy, published in the Boletín Oficial (Official Gazette) on 28 August 2024, which defines four routes: two regular and two express.
Bus 92 route
To understand the 92, it helps to think of a shared trunk: almost all its services share the section between Flores, Mataderos and Ruta 4. In Flores the bus uses the dedicated lanes of the Centro de Trasbordo Flores (Flores interchange) on Av. Rivadavia, continues along Av. Juan Bautista Alberdi and Av. Directorio, takes Guaminí and Av. Eva Perón and crosses Av. General Paz. Once in La Matanza it passes Av. Crovara, the area around Marinos del Fournier station on the Belgrano Sur train, Boulogne Sur Mer and Camino de la Virgen María, in Puente 12, and then the service road of the Autopista Riccheri to Ruta Provincial 4, the Camino de Cintura.
What changes between ramales (branches) is where the trip starts in the city and where it ends in Esteban Echeverría.
Bus 92 to Retiro: branch A
The 92A is the long route: about 34 km between Retiro and Barrio 9 de Abril. It leaves Av. de los Inmigrantes, in Retiro, passes the Mitre and San Martín train stations and takes Av. del Libertador and Av. Figueroa Alcorta. It then goes up Av. Pueyrredón and Av. Las Heras, crosses Palermo along Av. Coronel Díaz and Av. Honduras, continues along Av. Estado de Israel and Av. Ángel Gallardo, crosses Villa Crespo and Caballito on streets such as Aranguren and reaches Flores. From there it follows the shared trunk to Ruta 4 and ends at Ruta de la Tradición and Av. Olimpo, in Barrio 9 de Abril. The return trip to Retiro uses different streets on part of the route, including Av. Acoyte, Av. Corrientes, Billinghurst and Av. Las Heras.
Bus 92 to Transradio: branch B
The 92B leaves Plaza Flores, on Fray Cayetano Rodríguez between Yerbal and Av. Rivadavia, and follows the shared trunk to Ruta 4. Instead of ending at Av. Olimpo, it continues along Esteban Echeverría streets such as Provincia de Salta, Sebastián Elcano, Mariano Moreno and Ingeniero Huergo to Juan Díaz de Solís, in Barrio Transradio. It covers about 23 km. If you are looking for the old “92 a Puente 12” (92 to Puente 12), that branch no longer exists: Puente 12 is now a stop on the A and the D.
Bus 92 express: branches C and D
Both expresses follow the branch A route, with fixed stops, and charge the regular fare. The 92C links Retiro with Av. Eva Perón and Av. General Paz, about 24 km, with 22 stops in each direction, including the Retiro stations, Av. del Libertador and Cerrito, Hospital Rivadavia, Coronel Díaz and Santa Fe, Ángel Gallardo and Corrientes, Rivadavia and Nazca, and Av. Directorio. It is useful for crossing the city from east to west with fewer stops. The 92D links Plaza Flores with Barrio 9 de Abril, about 18.5 km, with 14 stops on the outbound trip, including Rivadavia and Nazca, Eva Perón and General Paz, Marinos del Fournier station and Puente 12.
Timetable and frequency
Under Resolution 801/2024, the regular services, A and B, run 24 hours a day, at the frequency approved by the CNRT. At rush hour the A may not have more than 5 and a half minutes between buses, and the B no more than 7 minutes. For the expresses the maximums are 14 and a half minutes on the C and 13 and a half minutes on the D.
The D express has a fixed timetable: it runs on weekdays and Saturdays, towards Barrio 9 de Abril between 6:45 and 20:45, and towards Plaza Flores between 5:15 and 20:15. There is no official published timetable per branch for the other services. SUBE data show how demand drops at the weekend: about 47,400 trips on a weekday, 32,200 on a Saturday and 19,500 on a Sunday. For a night or Sunday trip, check the next bus in the BA Cómo Llego app.
Route changes 2022–2024
In April 2022 the company added a route to Barrio Transradio that replaced the old branch B, which ran from Retiro to Puente 12. The new B has its terminus in Plaza Flores. Resolution 801/2024 made that layout official and set the four current routes, the express stops and the fleet: between 63 and 89 buses. If you find maps or apps that still show a “92 Retiro–Puente 12”, the information is out of date.
Main stops and connections
In Retiro the 92 stops at the Mitre and San Martín train stations. At Av. Ángel Gallardo and Av. Corrientes is Ángel Gallardo station on subte (metro) line B. In Flores, the interchange and Plaza Flores, on Av. Rivadavia, are on subte line A, and Marinos del Fournier station, on the Belgrano Sur, is an official stop in La Matanza.
Terminus of the A and the C express on Av. de los Inmigrantes. Stops at the Retiro stations of the Mitre and San Martín trains.
Terminus of the B and the D express. All branches use the dedicated lanes on Av. Rivadavia.
Stop on Camino de la Virgen María, in La Matanza, for branches A, B and the D express before they take Ruta 4.
Strikes, complaints and operator
Line 92 is run by Empresa de Transporte Microómnibus Sáenz Peña S.R.L. and is overseen by the CNRT, because it crosses the boundary between the city and the province. When the UTA (bus drivers’ union) calls a strike, it usually affects all lines in the AMBA; to find out whether the 92 is running today, check the line’s social media and the day’s news. To complain about frequency, a bus that did not stop or poor service, the official channel is the CNRT: 0800-333-0300 or the form at control.cnrt.gob.ar. Have the line, branch, time and, if possible, the vehicle number to hand.
The fare is paid with SUBE only and depends on distance. From October 2026, with a registered card, it ranges from $742.81 up to 3 km to $1,337.06 for over 27 km; with an unregistered card you pay double.
Tips for riding bus 92
- Check the letter and the sign: A and C go to Retiro, B and D leave from Plaza Flores, and only the B reaches Transradio.
- To cross the city between Palermo and Flores at rush hour, the C express makes fewer stops than the A along the same route.
- The D express does not run on Sundays or after 20:45: plan your return on the A or the B.
- Use a registered SUBE card and tell the driver your destination when you board, because the fare is charged by distance.
