Route 513 is a Red Movilidad bus (locally, a micro) in the system formerly called Transantiago, linking the west and east of Santiago through the city centre. It starts on Av. La Estrella, in Cerro Navia, crosses Quinta Normal, runs along the Alameda to Plaza Italia, crosses Ñuñoa via Dublé Almeyda and ends in Peñalolén, in the Av. José Arrieta and Río Claro area. According to DTPM’s current operating schedule (October 2026), the outbound trip is 30.6 km long with 93 bus stops, and the service runs 24 hours a day. Since 30 August 2025 it has been run by Voy Santiago 15, which took it over from Metbus.

Route 513: from Cerro Navia to Peñalolén

Cerro Navia and Costanera Sur. The 513 starts at Avenida La Estrella and Los Conquistadores, passes the Gimnasio Municipal de Cerro Navia and the Escuela Violeta Parra and takes Costanera Sur, which it follows for several blocks as far as Cerámica.

Quinta Normal and Matucana. It then continues along Avenida Carrascal, with stops at the Laboratorio Recalcine, the Escuela Lo Franco and the Municipalidad de Quinta Normal. Via Walker Martínez and Tropezón it reaches Av. Coronel Robles, passes Gruta de Lourdes station and the Basílica de Lourdes and goes down Avenida Matucana to Quinta Normal station and the Hospital San Juan de Dios.

The Alameda. Via Chacabuco it reaches Estación Central Metro station and from there runs along the Alameda with bus stops at Unión Latinoamericana, República, Los Héroes, La Moneda, Universidad de Chile, Santa Lucía and Universidad Católica, up to Plaza Italia.

Ñuñoa. From Plaza Italia the 513 continues past the Parque Bustamante, Santa Isabel and Irarrázaval stations and enters Dublé Almeyda: it passes Monseñor Eyzaguirre, Ñuñoa, Chile España and Plaza Ñuñoa up to Av. Américo Vespucio.

Av. José Arrieta and Peñalolén. The last stretch runs along Av. José Arrieta, crossing Av. Tobalaba, Camino Peñalolén and Av. Consistorial, and continues along Av. Diagonal Las Torres and Los Baqueanos to Río Claro and Valle Hermoso, next to the CESFAM Cardenal Raúl Silva Henríquez.

On the return trip the route changes in Ñuñoa: the bus runs along Javiera Carrera Sur and Avenida Irarrázaval, with bus stops at Plaza Egaña, Villa Frei, the Casa de la Cultura de Ñuñoa and Plaza Ñuñoa. In the west it comes back via Avenida Andes before rejoining Av. Carrascal and Costanera Sur.

Route 513 timetable

According to DTPM’s current operating schedule (October 2026), the 513 runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. On a weekday there are about 123 departures towards José Arrieta; on Saturday about 81 and on Sunday about 79.

The highest frequency is on weekdays: in the morning peak it comes roughly every 9 minutes and in the afternoon, between 16:30 and 18:30, every 7 minutes. At weekends the daytime interval is between 13 and 18 minutes. After 22:00 it leaves every 17 to 20 minutes.

It does not stop at night: between midnight and 01:00 it leaves every 20 minutes and between 01:00 and 05:30 roughly every 30 minutes, in both directions and every day.

💡 Good to know: the times in the schedule are departures from the terminal. On such a long route, the bus reaches the bus stops in the centre quite a bit later, so use the predictor to find out when it will arrive.

How long the 513 takes

According to the operating schedule, the full outbound trip takes about 155 minutes for 30.6 km, that is, more than two and a half hours, with 93 bus stops and a long stretch along the Alameda and through the centre. If your trip is long, consider riding only part of it on the 513 and combining with the Metro.

In the direction of Peñalolén the 513 has bus stops at Gruta de Lourdes, Quinta Normal, Estación Central, Unión Latinoamericana, República, Los Héroes, La Moneda, Universidad de Chile, Santa Lucía, Universidad Católica, Parque Bustamante, Santa Isabel, Irarrázaval, Monseñor Eyzaguirre, Ñuñoa and Chile España stations. How to see where the 513 bus is

The App Red, Red Movilidad’s free official app, has a predictor that shows how long until each bus reaches your stop. On red.cl, the “¿Cuándo llega?” option works the same way: type in the bus stop code and you will see the next buses. The code is on the sign at each bus stop and starts with P, a letter and a number. On the 513 this is especially useful at night, when it comes every half hour.

Fare and tarjeta bip!

The adult bus fare is CLP 795 at any time of day, in force since 22 February 2026. Secondary and higher-education students with a TNE pay CLP 260, primary-school pupils ride free and seniors with a bip! Adulto Mayor card pay CLP 390. You can pay with the tarjeta bip! or with bip!QR from the App Red.

A single payment gives you up to two transfers (three legs) within 120 minutes of your first tap, as long as you do not repeat the same bus route. There is no extra charge between buses; if you combine with the Metro, the total rises to CLP 895 in peak hours and CLP 815 in off-peak hours.

Tips for riding the 513

  • To cross the whole city, combine with the Metro on the Alameda: the full trip by bus takes more than two and a half hours.
  • In Ñuñoa, check the direction: towards Peñalolén the bus runs along Dublé Almeyda and towards Cerro Navia along Av. Irarrázaval.
  • In the early morning the 513 comes roughly every 30 minutes: check the predictor before you leave.
