River Plate will face Independiente Rivadavia in a crucial match of the Clausura Tournament, scheduled for 19:15 at the Estadio Monumental. Both teams are looking to earn important points in the competition.
The match will be officiated by referee Nicolás Ramírez, accompanied by assistants Diego Bonfá and Erik Grunmann, as well as fourth official Juan Cruz Robledo and VAR Hernán Mastrángelo, with assistant Martín Despósito.
Independiente Rivadavia arrives at the match with strong performance, maintaining momentum after their elimination in the Copa Libertadores against Fluminense. Following a goalless draw against Independiente in Avellaneda, they secured victories of 2-0 over Aldosivi and 3-1 against Racing. This positions them first in the Annual Table with 45 points and sixth in zone B of the Clausura with 11 points.
On the other hand, River Plate is in a recovery process under the direction of Leonardo Ponzio, following a difficult start to the second half that led to Eduardo Coudet’s departure. The team achieved a key 3-2 victory against Banfield in their last match, but with only two victories in the competition, they urgently need a win. They currently sit in 11th place in zone B of the Clausura with 7 points and 10th in the Annual Table with 36 points.
The possible lineups for the match are: for River Plate, Santiago Beltrán; Gonzalo Montiel, Lucas Martínez Quarta, Nicolás Otamendi, Marcos Acuña; Fausto Vera, Tobías Andrada, Tomás Galván; Thiago Almada; Ángel Correa and Sebastián Driussi, under the direction of Leonardo Ponzio. Meanwhile, for Independiente Rivadavia, Nicolás Bolcato; Alex Vigo, Leonard Costa, Iván Villalba, Leonel Bucca; Tomás Bottari, José Florentín; Gonzalo Ríos, Matías Fernández, Fabrizio Sartori; Alex Arce, managed by Alfredo Berti.
This match represents a vital opportunity for both teams in matchday 8 of the Clausura Tournament, with River Plate as the host facing an Independiente Rivadavia that presents itself as one of the leaders in the competition. The match will be broadcast on TNT Sports.
