Comerciantes Unidos achieved an important draw against Universitario de Deportes as visitors in matchday 8 of the 2026 Liga 1 Clausura, leaving coach José Eugenio Hernández satisfied but concerned about a foul that occurred during the game.
The Cutervo team showed a competitive proposal at the Monumental Stadium, generating several opportunities to secure victory. Additionally, the coach emphasized Rodrigo Vilca’s role in midfield, underscoring his intelligence and ability to create tactical superiority in the game. “He is a talented player and has surprising intelligence for playing,” he explained about the tactical adjustment made.
Despite the draw, Hernández was cautious, reminding that “after all, it’s one point.” He mentioned that he has been in charge of the team for two months and 12 days, a period during which he has sought to implement important changes in their functioning.
