Julio César Chávez Jr. showcased his skills in the ring by knocking out Jeison Troncoso in the first round of his fight in Puebla. His quick victory surprised fans and his father, Julio César Chávez González, who was present at the event.

After the bout, Chávez Jr. spoke with the press about his performance and rated himself positively, noting that his knockout was “spectacular” thanks to the preparation he undertook. The 40-year-old boxer expressed relief at achieving a decisive win, especially after a period without quick victories. “It was very nice because it had been a long time since I won in one round. All boxers like to win quickly,” he declared.

Chávez Jr. clarified that Troncoso was a serious and well-prepared opponent, highlighting that often boxers face rivals who do not provide real competition. “There are two ways: some are brought against easy opponents, who fall down or do not fight,” he stated. The Mexican attributed his success to a precise blow and recalled that his performance has been strengthened by his experience in previous fights.

Although the fight did not last as long as some fans had hoped, Chávez Jr. valued his performance and the knockout he achieved. “It may not have been the best long show for the people, but the knockout was spectacular. It was a good performance. I feel happy,” he commented.

Regarding the future, the boxer acknowledged that Jeison Troncoso does not match the level of opponents he faced in his prime years but considered that the win is a step on his path back to the ring. “Logically, he is not an opponent of my quality from a long time ago, but I am 40 years old and we are seeing how I am advancing,” he indicated. He also mentioned that his preparation in Puebla was crucial, stating that he had been working there for 25 days before the fight. “I prepared here for 25 days, it was key and I am very happy,” he added.

Chávez Jr. reflected on the final stretch of his career, mentioning that he still intends to participate in tournaments and compete for interim championships. “There are champions at my age who have made history,” he stated. Although the recent fight was not for a championship, the fighter expressed his desire to continue competing at the highest level. “We aim to see how far we can go,” he concluded, emphasizing the importance of this victory in his career.
