A woman is hospitalized following an alleged attempted feminicide that occurred in Carabayllo, according to her family. The incident, which took place on Friday while she was on her way to pick up her son, involves her ex-partner, who allegedly dragged her with his vehicle for several meters.
According to her brother’s account, the man was driving a car when he began to argue with Natalia over child support. During the argument, the presumed aggressor allegedly threatened her saying, “One of these days I’m going to kill you,” before accelerating the vehicle. The woman reportedly held onto one of the car doors and was dragged to a corner of the area.
The alleged perpetrator, identified as Itamar Nina Quispe Peralta, has caused concern for the family. In particular, they question how the police authorities initially recorded the report at the Santa Isabel police station as a mere traffic accident. Arturo Menacho, Natalia’s lawyer, indicated that the report was filed the same Friday, but the officers denied the appropriate classification of the case at that time.
Menacho commented that it was only on Saturday that the police changed the classification of the incident to attempted feminicide, pointing out that despite witnesses and a video supporting the victim’s version, the suspect was not caught in the act. He asserted that Natalia was dragged for approximately six meters, and that the consequences could have been much more serious if the vehicle had not stopped near a funeral structure located in the area.
Regarding the victim’s health, Natalia described in a phone call the injuries she suffered, including trauma to her neck and back, as well as bruises on both arms and an injury to her right leg. “I have my right leg where practically all my weight fell,” she recounted, adding that she received seven stitches and lost part of the skin on one of her knees. She currently cannot walk and is bedridden. While her brother claims that her life is not in danger, the injuries are considered serious.
The family has also faced obstacles in accessing the Mandatory Traffic Accident Insurance (SOAT), reporting that the relatives of the suspect did not present the document when the authorities arrived at the scene of the incident.
