The life of Dennis Rodman, the famous former NBA player, took an unexpected turn when he received an offer to play a basketball game in Finland at the age of 44. This event, which occurred on November 6, 2005, in Helsinki, marked a temporary return to the courts after four months without playing.

The story dates back to the early morning of July 2 to 3, 2005, when Aleksi Valavuori, the general manager of ToPo, saw Rodman and came up with the idea of offering him a contract for a game. Although Rodman had traveled to Finland to participate in the World Wife Carrying Championship, he did not compete because his partner had a leg fracture. When Valavuori made the proposal, Rodman, in a relaxed state, accepted on the condition that a financial agreement was reached.

The contract stipulated that Rodman would play at least 15 minutes.
