Women are gaining positions in the corporate world, although their progress is not uniform. This was the central focus of a recent meeting where leaders from ArcelorMittal Acindar, Banco Galicia, and Naranja X shared their experiences in building female leadership.

Agostina Di Grande, Foreign Trade Manager at Banco Galicia, reviewed her 25-year career in a traditionally male industry. From her experience in various areas of the company, she emphasized the importance of generating empathy and networks, essential tools in business management. “Understanding the problem that the other person has, because one has been there at that moment, is very important when managing businesses,” commented Di Grande. She also spoke about the impact of the merger with HSBC, describing it as the most challenging process of her career and stressing that “change is driven by people.” Her advice to women is to apply even if they do not meet all the requirements, encouraging them to raise their hands and seek mentorship.

María Eugenia Arata, Director of People and Institutional Relations at ArcelorMittal Acindar, shared her vision on inclusion in the workplace of one of the most male-dominated industries in the country. For Arata, gender quotas are an essential tool to achieve balance in leadership, noting that the company aims for 30% women in leadership roles by 2030 and currently has 22%. Additionally, she highlighted that 50% of the directors are women. Arata also addressed the biases present in the educational environment, mentioning the Click program, which aims to promote inclusion in science and technology fields among students from technical schools.

Silvana Jachevasky, Chief Marketing Officer at Naranja X, highlighted the relationship between diversity and commercial impact, mentioning that over 40% of leadership positions in the company are held by women. Jachevasky, who attended an inclusive school, emphasized three attributes of female leadership: empathy, decision-making ability in uncertainty, and ambition. Naranja X also utilizes artificial intelligence to enhance the personalization of its services, leading to the development of shared accounts, reflecting how social dynamics influence financial management.

The event demonstrated that female leadership is not forged solely through statistics but through concrete decisions and a commitment to diverse teams, which generate better results across all industries.
