Judges Pablo Yadarola and Pablo Bertuzzi took their oath this Thursday as new members of Chamber I of the Buenos Aires Federal Court, an important tribunal in Comodoro Py 2002, during an event attended by government and judicial authorities before a full auditorium.
The swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by prominent officials, including the President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Horacio Rosatti, and the Ministers of Security and Justice, Alejandra Monteoliva and Juan Bautista Mahiques, respectively. The ceremony was led by Judge Eduardo Farah, who served as acting president of the Chamber. Judge Roberto Boico was absent due to health issues.
With the appointments of Yadarola and Bertuzzi, Chamber I of the Federal Court is now composed of three full judges, including Mariano Llorens. Bertuzzi returns to the Chamber after being transferred to this position by presidential decree during the administration of Mauricio Macri. The audience was an informal event, characterized by a cordial atmosphere and applause for each oath taken.
The event also featured the invaluable presence of judges from various courts, prosecutors, and officials from different agencies. In the front row were judges from the Federal Court of Cassation, as well as multiple first-instance judges reviewing decisions made by the Chamber.
The appointments of Yadarola and Bertuzzi were formalized through decrees 848/2026 and 847/2026, signed by President Javier Milei and Minister of Justice Mahiques, with their respective publication in the Official Gazette. The Federal Court plays a key role in reviewing decisions in cases of corruption, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and other complex crimes, being crucial in appeals that may influence investigations of significant political and institutional relevance.
Chamber I will be involved in important cases such as the investigation into the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, where they will need to determine the validity of certain decisions made by Judge Marcelo Martínez De Giorgi regarding the complaints filed by investors.
