The head of the SSPC, Omar García Harfuch, and the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, visited the Command Center of the National Immediate Search Alert (ANBI) on September 3. This mechanism, promoted by the Government of Mexico, aims to improve the response to the disappearance of individuals.

Harfuch reported that 50% of the alerts activated by the ANBI are resolved with the location within the first 24 hours. He announced the visit through a message on X, emphasizing the importance of the joint work of institutions from the Security Cabinet and the 32 federal entities. Additionally, Rodríguez added that personnel from the SSPC, Segob, National Search Commission, National Guard, and the FGR operate in a coordinated manner “24 hours a day, 7 days a week” to address these reports.

On the same day, the Undersecretary for Human Rights, Population and Migration of Segob, Félix Arturo Medina Padilla, presented 10 concrete actions from the Government of Claudia Sheinbaum aimed at accelerating the search for missing persons in Mexico. Medina assured that families would be informed about the implementation of these measures.

As part of the strategy, he highlighted that in the last two months, 3,039 locations have been confirmed, and through the National Alert, 2,572 individuals were located, most within the first 48 hours after the report. He also emphasized the necessity for all records in the National Registry of Missing and Unlocated Persons (RNPDNO) to contain complete data, for which the support of 10 national and foreign specialists will be utilized.

Medina clarified that this group will carry out technical, scientific, and legal analysis to optimize both the registration and the search processes, highlighting that the required profile should include knowledge in data analysis, statistics, mathematics, artificial intelligence, and programming.
