Luis de Llano, the television producer arrested on September 2, is currently at the San Fernando Administrative Sanctions and Social Integration Center. His lawyer has addressed concerns about his health and the treatment received from the authorities.
Luis de Llano’s lawyer has provided updates on his health status, indicating that the approximately 80-year-old producer is stable. However, the defense attorney has questioned the medical care he received upon arriving at the detention center, arguing that the medical examiner did not conduct a proper evaluation, including measuring blood pressure, and only checked for possible superficial injuries.
Reporters have asked the lawyer about De Llano’s well-being and whether he received fair treatment during his time in custody, to which he responded: “He is fine, he is in good condition.” Nevertheless, the lawyer warned that if the producer experiences pressure problems as a result of the arrest, the authorities could be held responsible.
The lawyer also emphasized the importance of the judge considering De Llano’s age and personal circumstances to provide adequate protection for an elderly adult. He asserts that “the judge must ensure to provide him with the appropriate protection taking into account the particular circumstances of each person.”
Regarding details of the ongoing civil trial between De Llano and Sasha Sokol, the lawyer refused to provide information, noting that there is a court order prohibiting the disclosure of data related to the case. He explained that any public dissemination could influence the perception of justice and described the arrest as arbitrary, alluding to alleged prior suspensions that the authorities should have respected.
Finally, Sasha Sokol’s legal representation has pointed out that De Llano failed to comply with two measures dictated in the ruling for moral damages, which required the recording and display of a public apology, as well as the publication of the ruling summary, resulting in his arrest for contempt.
