Starting September 1, 2026, Colombian citizens will be able to visit Israel for tourism purposes without a visa for stays of up to three months, thanks to a reciprocal exemption agreement between Colombia and Israel.
To make this trip, Colombians must obtain the electronic authorization ETA-IL and meet the immigration requirements established for entry into the country. It is important to note that the visa exemption does not eliminate entry controls. Travelers must present documents that support the purpose of their visit, length of stay, financial solvency, and a return to their country of origin, with the final admission decision resting with the Israeli immigration authorities.
Colombians will not require a visa for tourism of less than three months, but they must have the ETA-IL authorization before traveling. Required documents include a round-trip ticket, accommodation reservation for the entire stay, international medical insurance, and evidence explaining their itinerary to the immigration authorities.
The application for the ETA-IL must be made on the official website of the Israeli government. It is recommended to avoid intermediaries or unauthorized sites, as the fee is 25 Israeli shekels, equivalent to less than $7 USD (COP $22.030). The response is sent to the provided email address and may take up to 72 hours. A payment receipt must be presented to avoid inconveniences.
Upon entering Israel, travelers should be clear about the reason for their visit and detail the cities they plan to visit, their place of lodging, and the duration of their stay. It is useful to carry printed information about the itinerary, including reservations and scheduled activities. Additionally, they must demonstrate financial solvency to cover expenses during their trip.
The Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes the importance of staying informed through official sources and suggests avoiding areas of risk. Visitors should have their passport and personal documents on hand, as well as an emergency kit that includes medications and other essential items for a safe trip.
