The Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV) has reported a decline in the pace of new bookings to Morocco, although no significant increase in cancellations is observed.

José Manuel Lastra, president of CEAV, indicated that the organization is closely monitoring the current situation, expressing concern over the drop in the number of new bookings to the popular holiday destination. Lastra has expressed his hope that the situation in Ceuta ‘will be resolved as soon as possible’, which would allow for the normalization of tourism activity and travel bookings through agencies.

Morocco is seen as an attractive destination for Spanish travelers, with nearly four million Spaniards traveling to the neighboring country annually, according to CEAV figures. Additionally, Lastra highlighted that Morocco remains an area of interest for various Latin American markets, which are served by Spanish agencies and tour operators.

In this case, he assured that these markets ‘continue to book normally’, while confirming that the domestic market is experiencing some contraction.
