Liga MX has confirmed a time change for the match between Cruz Azul and Club Santos Laguna, scheduled for Sunday, September 6. The match, originally set for 8:00 PM, will now take place at 5:00 PM at Estadio Banorte.
The schedule modification is due to the rescheduling of several matches as attention shifts to the semifinals of the Leagues Cup. This will be the last match of round 7, although the date will not be completely closed.
Cruz Azul will be seeking a much-needed victory after a series of three consecutive losses, while Club Santos will try to break their negative streak, having accumulated only one point out of eighteen possible in the tournament. Their last match ended in a goalless draw against Tigres UANL.
Regarding the squad, there are doubts about Erik Lira’s participation, whose transfer to AS Monaco fell through at the last moment. The player has been absent from training, increasing the likelihood that he will not be called up by coach Joel Huiqui for this match.
Additionally, several matches of round 7 have been rescheduled, as Toluca FC, Rayados de Monterrey, Club América, and Club León previously engaged in other commitments in the United States. Meanwhile, Club León will face Pumas UNAM on Thursday, September 10, following the third-place match of the Leagues Cup against Club América.
