The Federal Oral Court 7 resumed this Thursday the trial involving former President Cristina Kirchner, where Miguel Gutiérrez, former president of the Concessionaire Group of the West, testified as a witness. His statement comes in the context of the case known as the ‘notebooks of corruption’, for which he was accused and later dismissed.
Gutiérrez testified via videoconference and recalled the challenges of managing the highway during his tenure. He mentioned that there were “inspections and enforcement of fines” and recounted his meetings with the officials of the time, including Claudio Uberti and former Planning Minister Julio De Vido. The former president of the Concessionaire Group of the West stated that the Road Concession Control Body (OCCOVI), headed by Uberti, was the regulatory entity in charge of the highway and that his interactions were necessary to discuss the state of the road infrastructure.
The notebook case has implicated several officials and businessmen in an investigation related to corruption.
