The dispute between Magaly Medina and Paco Bazán has taken a new turn following the journalist’s insistence on appearing on her show. Medina, the host of the program, dismissed Bazán’s request after his appearance on Jefferson Farfán’s podcast ‘La Manada’.
Medina revealed that Bazán desperately sought an invitation to the program on September 1, stating that he did not mind being criticized or mistreated during his appearance. However, the host firmly rejected the request. “And now in the afternoon he was begging to come on the program. He says it doesn’t matter if they kick him, if they mistreat him,” Medina expressed during her broadcast.
The journalist had no hesitation in labeling Bazán’s approach as inappropriate, suggesting that his interest arose after realizing the potential repercussions of his meeting with Farfán. “No, Paco, I’m not interested in inviting you, I’m not interested,” she asserted, showing her clear rejection of the journalist, whom she accused of behaving like a “sycophant”.
Medina also criticized those who seek external approval, using terms like “sycophants” to refer to those who, according to her, only seek to meet external expectations. “They need validation from women, validation from friends… because sycophants are never friends,” she stated disdainfully.
The host was emphatic in warning that she would not allow Bazán into her space, declaring: “Even if he comes and crawls around here, I’ll have him taken out for sure. He shouldn’t even peek at the door of my studio, because I don’t need sycophants, I’ve never wanted them, I don’t have them.” This statement concluded with her criticism of the lack of self-love she perceives in Bazán, reiterating her disdain for attitudes she considers hypocritical.
