Paco Bazán’s participation in the podcast La Manada, hosted by Jefferson Farfán, has sparked strong criticism from Magaly Medina. The host of Magaly TV La Firme questioned the inappropriate meeting given the legal conflict that Farfán has with ATV and her own person.
During the program on September 1, Medina expressed her disagreement with Bazán’s decision to attend the podcast, deeming it a mistake from a professional and ethical standpoint. “Being, belonging, being somewhere, makes them make decisions that I consider unethical and wrong,” the presenter stated.
Medina recalled that Bazán is part of ATV, a channel that currently has an open dispute with Farfán, which she considers contradictory given the hug they shared on the podcast. “Paco Bazán, who is a member of this channel, right? This channel that has an open struggle with Jefferson Farfán,” she pointed out, raising concerns about how someone in his position can support an individual who is conflicting with the company.
In her criticism, she asked: “So, how can he go hug the enemy of this channel?” She also emphasized that the issue is not just personal, but affects the entity in which both work, stating, “Because it’s not just my enemy or someone who is suing me. By suing me, they sue the entire channel, because the entire channel is liable for me.”
Paco Bazán, for his part, defended his attendance at the podcast, suggesting that there was no malice in his participation. However, Medina criticized his justification, questioning the alleged “ambush” he mentioned: “What ambush? Do you think we are naive here, Paco, please? You rather seem like you were born yesterday.”
Moreover, Magaly hinted that Bazán might be looking for a new job opportunity by associating with Farfán. “What happens is that I think he is looking for work and surely wants to be given a streaming program there,” she suggested. She added that Bazán’s show had seen a decline in viewership, which had caused him financial losses: “He was losing money, a lot of money.”
Medina also questioned how Bazán’s superiors at ATV might interpret his meeting with Farfán. “What can your bosses think of you? That you are a traitor, right?” she said, emphasizing that the conflict between Farfán and ATV should be taken into account by all the channel’s employees.
Finally, Magaly Medina closed her critique asserting that Bazán did not seem interested in his work, highlighting the lack of ethics in his decision to shake hands with an adversary of his channel.
