The family of Elisa Campos Evaristo has requested the community’s help to identify the driver who hit her and fled in San Juan de Lurigancho on September 1. The accident occurred at 11:26 AM when the vendor was returning home after finishing her work shift.

Elisa Campos Evaristo was pushing her cart at the intersection of Jorge Basadre and Huertos streets when she was struck by a vehicle that did not stop after the impact. According to her son’s accounts, although the car appeared to be moving at low speed, it did not offer assistance after the accident. She was taken to Hospital 10 de Canto Grande without vital signs.

“What we feel as a family is helplessness for what happened to my mom,” expressed one of her sons, who also criticized the lack of support from the driver. Campos Evaristo worked for 25 years selling emoliente and was well-known by the neighbors in the area.

The family has urged the authorities to find the responsible person and has requested a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the accident. So far, the Traffic Police are reviewing security camera footage from the area in hopes of obtaining information that will help identify the vehicle and the driver.

Information has been collected from witnesses who mentioned seeing the letters “ANA” on the license plate of the vehicle. However, despite gathering data, an official identification of the car has not been achieved. Officers have sent requests to nearby businesses to obtain more footage that may assist in finding the driver.

The San Juan de Lurigancho Municipality has offered its support in reviewing the district’s security cameras. The family hopes these efforts will allow them to reconstruct the vehicle’s path and clarify what happened during the incident.
