Authorities in the United States arrested four individuals after seizing over 940 kilograms of marijuana in a Coast Guard operation. The interception of the vessel occurred recently in U.S. coastal waters.
The Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATFS) reported that the speedboat stopped without further incidents during the operation. Subsequently, agents located an area where bales were found along the previous route of the vessel. In total, 47 bales of what is suspected to be marijuana were recovered, weighing a total of 2,082 pounds (944 kilograms) with an estimated value of over $2.4 million (almost €2.1 million).
The JIATFS emphasized the importance of vigilance, professionalism, and coordination of agents throughout the process, from detection and pursuit to evidence recovery and support in search and rescue operations. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of U.S. authorities to combat drug trafficking in the region.
