Ester Muñoz, Spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress, has expressed her disagreement with the fact that the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Salvador Illa, determines the funding for autonomous communities. Additionally, she has shown respect for the decision of the Community of Madrid not to participate in today’s meeting of the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council.
In an interview aired by RNE and reported by Europa Press, Muñoz stated that she was not aware of Madrid’s decision to be absent from the meeting where a new system of autonomous funding will be discussed. However, she called for respect for the decision of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the president of the community, noting that it is part of her responsibilities.
Muñoz emphasized that what is crucial is the content of the vote and highlighted that not only the autonomous communities governed by the Popular Party will reject the government’s proposal, but also Castilla-La Mancha and Asturias. She assured that the new funding system has been developed
