A woman has been sentenced to four years of effective imprisonment for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute in Salta. This ruling was made following an agreement ratified at a preventive detention review hearing.
The accused, Daniela Alejandra Aguilera, acknowledged her criminal responsibility in a case brought forward by the Public Prosecutor’s Unit against Drug Trafficking (UFINAR). The decision was reached by Judge José Luis Riera, while criminal prosecutor Gustavo Torres Rubelt represented the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The case originated from an anonymous tip targeting a house in the Solidaridad neighborhood. The investigation included surveillance and evidence collection that demonstrated a method of direct drug sales from the location. The investigation culminated in a raid on July 17, during which fragmented drugs and other items related to drug dealing were seized, further solidifying the accused’s responsibility.
According to the records gathered, investigators documented a pattern of movements around the residence, suggesting exchanges of money for drugs. The investigation was strengthened by the intervention of buyers who exited the residence with base paste cocaine, confirming the illegal activities.
Following these inquiries, UFINAR requested a judicial order to search the property. During the operation, cocaine packages were found, some hidden inside a mate, as well as other evidence indicating drug distribution activities. Marijuana, cash, and eight cell phones were also discovered, all incorporated into the case.
The total amount of narcotics seized exceeded 400 doses, a key element in the accusation. Daniela Alejandra Aguilera remained detained at the General Detention Center of the City of Salta during the proceedings, and the review hearing led to an agreement regarding the possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, resulting in her four-year prison sentence.
