Olive oil prices in Spain have been updated for various categories, including extra virgin, virgin, and lampante, on Friday, September 4, 2026.

Spain is positioned as the world’s leading exporter of olive oil, with more than half of its exports leaving the country, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA). The value of olive oil fluctuates based on harvest availability, influenced by climatic factors such as droughts and floods, as well as production costs. This requires constant updates of its prices in the market.

The current pricing of olive oil in euros per kilogram is as follows:

INFAOLIVA
Virgin olive oil: 3.225 €
Extra virgin olive oil: 3.288 €
Lampante olive oil: 3.125 €

ALMAZARAS FEDERADAS DE CÓRDOBA
Virgin olive oil: N.C.
Extra virgin olive oil: 3.42 €
Lampante olive oil: N.C.

JUNTA DE ANDALUCÍA
Virgin olive oil: 3.29 €
Extra virgin olive oil: 3.61 €
Lampante olive oil: 3.14 €

The olive oil sector is a vital component of the Spanish agri-food industry, with national production representing 70% of what the European Union generates and 45% of global production. More than 350,000 farmers are involved in olive cultivation, which supports approximately 15,000 additional jobs in the industry and generates more than 32 million workdays each campaign.

The area dedicated to olive groves in Spain covers 2.75 million hectares, spread across 15 of the 17 autonomous communities. Andalucía leads in production with 1.67 million hectares, concentrating in Jaén, known as the “sea of olives.” Additionally, olive cultivation represents the largest area of Integrated Production in Spain, and there is a growing segment of organic farming underway.

In 2025, olive oil production faced challenges due to climate changes that affected the market. Experts anticipate lower production for the 2025/2026 campaign, although it is expected to exceed the five-year average. The climatic situation in the coming months will be decisive for price fluctuations.

The MAPA is also considering the possibility of implementing measures to withdraw product from the market if there is an estimate of abundant production, although its application will depend on definitive estimates.
