The weather in Mexico on September 3 will be affected by tropical cyclone Marie and several tropical waves, bringing heavy rains to various regions of the country.
This Friday, the Mexican monsoon located in the northwest of Mexico will cause heavy to very heavy rains with electrical activity in the states of Sonora, Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Durango, and Nayarit. Meanwhile, tropical cyclone Marie will generate gusty winds and elevated surf in Baja California, as well as intense rains in Baja California Sur. Additionally, low-pressure channels, troughs, and tropical waves 35 and 36 will cause showers and intense rains in the northeast, east, south, and southeast of the country, including the Yucatan Peninsula, with a chance of hail in the west and center.
A hot environment is expected to persist in the northern part of the country, with a heat wave affecting Sinaloa, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas. Forecasted maximum temperatures will range from 40 to 45 °C in locations in Baja California (northeast), Sonora (west), Chihuahua (northeast), among others. States such as Baja California Sur (northwest and center), Durango, and Jalisco will see temperatures between 35 and 40 °C, while Michoacán, Zacatecas, and others could reach temperatures of 30 to 35 °C.
During the early morning, very strong localized rains are anticipated in several regions of Sonora, Chihuahua, Nayarit, and Durango, with heavy rains in the center and north of Sinaloa, as well as isolated rains in Baja California.
The rainfall forecast includes very strong precipitation of 75 to 150 mm in Baja California Sur and heavy rains of 50 to 75 mm in states such as Sonora, Sinaloa, and Chihuahua. Showers with localized rains between 25 to 50 mm are also expected in Nuevo León, Colima, and other states. Finally, intervals of showers of 5 to 25 mm could occur in places like Coahuila, Aguascalientes, and Mexico City, and isolated rains of 0.1 to 5 mm in Baja California.
