Carlos ‘Tomate’ Barraza has reacted after being accused by his ex-partner, Venezuelan singer Ingrid Mijares, of alleged acts of physical and psychological violence, as well as harassment and bullying.
The situation became public after Mijares went to the Prosecutor’s Office and part of the documentation related to the complaint was aired on the program ‘Magaly TV, la firme’. In response to the serious allegations, Barraza denied the accusations and expressed his willingness to cooperate with justice to clarify the facts. “Let them investigate everything they need to investigate. It’s a lie, so you investigate. I am always willing to cooperate with justice and clarify all the facts, there is no problem with that,” the artist stated.
The complaint filed by Mijares includes accusations of crimes against life, body, and health, including assaults against women, as well as harassment. The singer asserted that after a series of incidents that compromised her peace, she felt the need to go to the authorities. “The truth is that if I dared to make this complaint, it’s because I really found myself in need. I will not allow anyone to come and harm me either,” Mijares declared.
The singer’s testimony mentions alleged insults and shouting during their relationship, highlighting a particular incident in which she reportedly suffered a physical assault. “He hit me in his truck outside a nightclub, pulled my hair, was choking me,” is noted in the documentation presented on the show.
In addition to the physical assault, Mijares claims that Barraza interfered in her professional life by attempting to get her fired from her jobs as a singing teacher in various municipalities. According to her statement, this included contacting people who hired her to prevent her participation in events, even offering his own services at competitive prices.
The complainant also pinpointed the end of her relationship with Barraza to 2024, highlighting an incident in September of that year as a breaking point. “The defendant… causing me to almost fall,” she mentioned. Another aspect of her complaint highlights the exposure of her personal information, claiming she felt threatened after her phone number and address were disclosed in a publication.
When asked about Mijares’ public complaint, Barraza reiterated his willingness for authorities to investigate the facts, calling the accusations “lies” and emphasizing his confidence that the situation will be clarified.
