The dollar offered to the public remains stable at Banco Nación, while the wholesale exchange rate ends unchanged at $1.508 this Friday, September 4.
The public dollar is offered at $1.530 for sale at Banco Nación. So far this year, 2026, the retail dollar has increased by 50 pesos, equivalent to a 3.4 percent rise. As for the wholesale dollar, it closed unchanged from Thursday, with a trading volume in the spot segment of USD 736.3 million.
“In the week just ending, the wholesale exchange rate fell by 4 pesos (-0.3%), in contrast to a rise of 13 pesos (+0.9%) recorded in the previous week,” commented Gustavo Quintana, operator at PR Corredores de Cambio. Meanwhile, the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) sets a ceiling of $1.885.14 under its exchange rate band regime, and the official exchange rate is at 377.14 pesos or 25% of that theoretical limit for managed floating.
According to BCRA reports, the retail dollar averages at financial institutions at $1.529.42 for sale and $1.477.98 for purchase. This Thursday, the BCRA acquired USD 15 million in the exchange market, accumulating a total of USD 58 million in the first four days of September, and increasing gross international reserves by USD 342 million, reaching a total of USD 50.800 million.
In the parallel market, the blue dollar quotation stood at $1.545, following a five-peso increase or 0.3% on Thursday. Since the beginning of September, the informal dollar has seen a decrease of ten pesos.
These fluctuations in the exchange rate reflect a complicated economic context that can affect both consumers and investors in the country.
